Chris Matthews Unloads On Protester Who Carried Gun To Obama Event
"You're carrying a god damned gun at a Presidential event," Matthews says to protester William Kostric, appearing on "Hardball" to explain why he carried a gun to a health care town hall in Portsmouth, New Hampshire hosted by President Obama. He said he wanted "to be heard" and wanted everyone to be aware of the rights we are losing. Matthews chides Kostric for bringing a loaded gun to an event where the President would be. "A firearm is a defensive tool," Kostric says. "Who would be silly enough to carry an unarmed firearm?" It is legal to carry guns in New Hampshire. He concludes that it would have been a safer crowd if everyone at the town hall carried guns. Also, he said Obama is "a great speaker" and that he voted for Ron Paul.

During a 2003 lecture also posted on the internet last year, Mr Hamza told followers that under Islamic law, men could demand sex from their wives. Despite Australian laws requiring consent, it was impossible for a man to rape his wife even if she refused to have sex, he said. He also said that Islamic law allowed men to hit their wives as a last resort, but were not allowed to leave them bruised or bloodied.

Obama's Fort Hood shooting remarks prove to us that our soldiers are first in his heart and mind. He seldom has an hour go by that he doesn't think about their sacrifices for our country. Our Commander-in-Chief is always ready to go the extra mile in showing our military that they are his number one concern; he is like one of them. I would like to thank President Obama for his heart felt remarks that he made this afternoon regarding the tragedy that took place at Fort Hood today. It is nice to finally have a President who really cares for our military men and women, and not one who only uses them for political reasons. Obama is the greatest Commander-in-Chief since George Washington. God bless you President Obama, for without you, we would have no hope or change. Speaking at the Interior Department, Obama said he had already conferred with Defense Secretary Robert Gates about the attack and would continue to receive updates. "We don't yet know all the details," Obama said. "What we do know is that a number of American soldiers have been killed and even more have been wounded in a horrific outburst of violence." "These are men and women who have made the selfless and courageous decision to risk and at times give their lives to the rest of us on a daily basis," the president continued. "It is horrifying that they should come under fire at an Army base on American soil." Obama's remarks came at the conclusion of the Tribal Nations Conference hosted by the Interior Department and the White House. He told his listeners leaders from many of the 564 federally recognized American Indian tribes that he had discarded his prepared comments in light of the breaking news. "I planned to make some broader remarks," he said after brief introductory comments. "But as some of you might have heard there has been a tragic shooting at the Fort Hood Army base in Texas."
